Answers to questions posed in class:
Red Hook (Roede Hook) is the Dutch name for a peninsula with reddish soil
Weeksville was named for a settler named Weeks
(Both answers found easily in the Encyclopedia of NYC)

Give me the bounds of your field walks so I can prepare block/lot maps for you. Send by email if you like

Reminder: There is no class on Tuesday 10/10. After Tuesday 10/3, the next class is on Tuesday 10/17. This recess is an ideal time to catch up on walks you have been postponing. (Is there anything else to do?) Please note that the walks have been designed around key places in NYC and serve more than the initial purpose. On 10/17 we should be discussing roads.
